Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Everson 60/60
On Friday, June 17 I had the pleasure of participating in the Everson Museum's third annual 60/60 event. All art created during the even was donated to a raffle to benefit the museum. The effort to mobilize and perform in public was well worth it! I thoroughly enjoy interacting with our patrons. I hope to be back again next year!
I was inspired by the devastating tsunami in March that destroyed much of Japan's eastern coast. Though my sympathy goes out to all of Japan for their endurance of major losses, I am also saddened by the fact that Matsushima Bay was devastated. Fortunately most buildings were not entirely ruined, but the landscape will take a long time to heal. This bay has not only been a major tourist destination but has been an inspiration to artists for centuries. This is my work from the 60/60 event and my tribute to Japan's struggle to return to normalcy.
