Having worked as secretary/steno/typist in the past, retirement gave me opportunity to "jump" into the art area. In retrospect, was in it along with working a "day job" as I did enter "ON MY OWN TIME" at employer and won in the "drawing" category. In 2004 (approximately) I donated that piece to the RescueMission's auction, and it sold!! Confidence resulted and here I am. Founded "CNY Art Forum" in 8/08 due to exasperation that no gallery was openly displaying or selling "amateur" senior-citizen-artists' work. Had the backing of Kate Clark, our illustrious past-Coordinator of Syracuse Art Commission!.

Then in 2009 joined the effort of the Public ArtTask Force (a sub-group under "40Below") as their plan was to seek a place for and approval of the Public Art Center (bldg). We worked hard, presented a "white paper" to the Syr Art Commission BUT it was not in their purview. The sad lack of outside funding resulted in the idea being shelved in 2009. (It was to serve the City's demographic area of low-income populations, as art is

needed in some form DOWNTOWN---i.e., a bldg with gallery, studios, printshop, CAFE', and teaching areas, AND 24-hr-artist-in-residence! We dreamed of dance classes & music for students of all ages. A boon to tourists would have resulted. If you haven't heard, it's true the art at school systems is not the total experience for ages 10 thru senior citizen & it's not just a Syracuse problem. Anyone connecting me with a "benefactor"/"politician" with funding, I'll join the effort again!)

Presently, am supporting this new website to the fullest! Successful art in the whole area (at least 8 counties) is primary goal.

And, any artist can be a speaker at CNY Art Forum's monthly meeting (usually the last Sat of the month at Salina Free Library). Present your art, with or without business card/brochures, and hopefully connect to public and fellow artists at a free Community room. Remember, public service can be fun!!
Museum of Bad Art (MOBA)tag:cnycreators.com,2010-07-29:5906932:BlogPost:8522010-07-29T18:00:00.000ZPeter Svobodahttps://cnycreators.com/profile/PeterSvoboda

Tian Tan Buddha - This is a photo I took while visiting my sister in Hong Kong. It is claimed to be the largest outdoor seated bronze Buddha in the world. Seeing it up close and in person was a magnificent experience. It was breathtaking to see something considered so sacred, and the reverence paid it awe inspiring.

I am currently a college student studying in New York City, working on photography as a fun hobby in my spare time. I truly enjoy looking at things in an artistic fashion and have a great time portraying that through my photos. I took a lot of my current collection in Hong Kong, and some in New York City. I am currently working on some modeling pictures, and anticipating taking a lot more in the future.
